Annual Events

As a village we try to create a strong community with lots to do, so that we can socialise and have fun together. Below are

a few of the annual events to look forward to.

Village Plant Sale

We look forward to seeing villagers at our annual plant sale in May, with cake and coffee are also available. Proceeds go to All Saints Chruch and West Farleigh in Bloom.

Garden Safari

Held each summer gardens are open around the village for you to visit. Gardens are of all sizes and designs, some long established, some more recent and some still a work in progress.

If you would be happy to open your garden we would be pleased to hear from you. It is a great incentive to get those jobs done, that you have been putting off! All you need to do on the day is to welcome visitors.

Village Cricket Match and BBQ

Held in July/August at the picturequse West Farleigh Cricket Club, this event pitches an invitational presidents side against the regular West Farleigh cricket team. A BBQ, picnics and lots of socialising make this a fun summer event.

Changeling Theatre at Elmscroft House

Changeling Theatre is a professional touring theatre company serving community audiences across South East England.

Hosted by the owners of Elmscroft, each July brings a wonderful new perfomance to enjoy.

West Farleigh in Bloom Sunflower Growing Competition

Held every summer with separate categories for children and adults, we look forward to seeing lots of (very tall) sunflowers around the village grown in the usual West Farleigh competitive spirit.

National Garden Scheme open day at Smiths Hall

The delightful 3 acre gardens and grounds of Smiths Hall are open to the public every June. Part of the National Garden Scheme, money is raised for the Heart of Kent Hospice.

Harvest Supper

We are very lucky in West Farleigh to have such a charming and accommodating old church in which we can celebrate occasions like the harvest festival.

Lashings of delicious food is brought by parishioners and a good night is held by all.

West Farleigh Fireworks

Held at West Farleigh Sports Club this is a family friendly evening held just after Halloween so witches, warlocks and pumpkins are welcome - with a ticket!

The event features a supporting musical band and refreshments for all the family.

A very big bonfire and huge fireworks display never fails to disappoint.

Christmas Grotto

Held in All Saints Church children can visit Father Christmas and receive an early Christmas present. Other festive activities include a children's craft table, photo booth, post box for letters to Father Christmas, decorating gingerbread men and festive refreshments.

All Saints Carol Service

All are welcome at the Carol Service at All Saints Church in December. After the service there is a chance for socialising with mulled wine and mince pies.
